This involved the design and
development of a staff scheduling application for use in the stores
of a major UK retailer; it was modelled on a spreadsheet system already used by that retailer
for scheduling of staff.
The new application needed to provide a more flexible solution than
the one already available. It was designed to ...
- Allow multiple layers of management
- Show real-time costs of staffing levels
- Still be extremely simple to use
The system provided many critical business ratios in real-time that
were previously calculated by hand.
This greatly reduced input errors, and allowed the managers involved
more time to analyse the performance of their stores.
